Brief Profile Of Members

I am a dedicated medical doctor and currently an associate professor with verse experience in plastic, aesthetic, and reconstructive surgery.  I head the thematic unit of plastic surgery at the University of Nairobi.  As one of the leading plastic surgeons in the country, I carry out a vast range of both aesthetic and reconstructive procedures including tummy tuck, liposuction, breast augmentation, breast lift, and breast reconstruction. Other procedures include brachial plexus nerve injury repair and lymphedema surgeries. I also participate in a lot of research works and so far have published more than sixty papers in peer-reviewed journals. Some of my biggest achievements include one being the lead plastic surgeon in the first conjoined twin separation in Kenya and lead surgeon in first hand and foot re-implantation in sub-Saharan Africa.  Other honors include winning an outstanding presentation by the American society of Plastic Surgeons, Austin, Texas, USA. Title, Determinants of Keloid recurrence: the Nairobi keloid recurrence scoring system. 2) 2022: Best presentation, Kenya society of plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Annual Scientific Conference in Mombasa, Kenya 3)2018: Keloid Research Foundation Award for being the country representative and Ambassador. 4)2013: Award from the Kenya society of Plastic Surgeons for being the first plastic surgeon in Kenya and sub-Saharan Africa to successfully complete the fellow of EBOPRAS examinations among others. With others, I initiated plastic surgery training and established Micro-vascular surgery at the University of Nairobi. I have supervised more than thirty MMed students and a PhD Student.
